Everyone has a CV, it’s basically an unwritten assignment with an always reoccurring deadline for the job-seeker. Some people attempt funky or creative designs, some prefer simple and stylish, whilst others debate detail versus concision. What everyone does not possess is a list of achievements, both trivial and accredited, which demonstrate the adequate life skills and experience for any job.

Here is an example of such a list, which supports any inclination to giving me a job:
- I take an interest in the history of everything, “Not to know what happened before you were born is to remain forever a child” – Cicero
- I was promoted following my second shift at a kitchen job, due to my ability to cope with the pressure of the kiosk following an unforeseen staff shortage.
- My four years of residency at university has exponentially increased my knowledge, understanding and appreciation of a variety of cultures, faiths and ideologies.
- I am capable of taking on extra commitment, as demonstrated by my management of the University radio whilst a 3rd year, my completion of an Extended Project Qualification during A-Levels and studying Astronomy as an additional ‘after school’ GCSE.
- I enjoy partaking in quizzes or researching topical subjects, as I believe improving general knowledge is important.
- I am often chosen as ‘the one in charge of the tickets’ or similar documents of responsibility on group excursions or holidays, demonstrating my reliability and organisation.
- Furthermore, I am often chosen as the ‘directions guy’ for car journeys, due to my excellent directional sense and clear instruction giving.
- My driving has been described as ‘smooth’ and ‘efficient’.
- Supporting Manchester City since I can remember has strengthened my resistance to and ability to deal with disappointment and unpredictability. They were once really bad remember.
- I achieved an A* grade in my history GCSE, after being predicted a C/D – I frequently exceed expectations.
- I continued to attend weekly football matches, despite the teams ability to perform and susceptibility to heavy defeat. This demonstrates commitment, loyalty and determination to improve.
- I babysat my younger siblings from a young age, which fostered my grasp of responsibility.
- As a prefect, I actually attended my designated station at break times, rather than just abusing the position for its preferential food-queue privileges.
- I provided football commentary for over five years. It was mostly for Subbuteo matches, but practise makes perfect.
- I was voted most valuable member for the winning team of a literal ‘bridge building’ enterprise competition.
- A male flatmate described me as ‘wife material’ due to my ability to cook, drive, write, play FIFA and my good taste in music; which I can only assume is a fairly decent compliment.
- Following a shift filming the 2015 general election for ITV Granada Reports, a rival journalist emailed a university tutor to congratulate me for my professionalism and for beating him to interview the winning MP candidate.
- I have a very eclectic taste in music, film, TV and sport making it easy for me to find common ground with people and integrate into any workplace.
- In an office-based environment, I have been commended for having a 'sunny disposition' by colleagues.
